A love triangle which also marks the return of Yash Chopra as a director after eight long years.


Samar (Shahrukh Khan), who is working in a army in bomb disposal squad, is very shy and introvert. His past experiences are not leaving mind and soul. In order to forget those past memories he comes to Kashmir and indulges in army operation. There he meets a tomboyish kind of girl, Muskaan (Anushka Sharma) who talks a lot and works for a wildlife channel and creates documentaries.Meanwhile, Muskaan starts liking Samar, who is lost in his past.

Flashback -

Samar is a musician, and part-time waiter in a hotel in London. He meets Meera (Katrina Kaif), in her engagement party and falls in love with her. Unfortunate events occur and Samar is hit by a car. Meera starts reciprocating to his feelings and prays god to save him. But soon makes a vow to get married to her fiance. As Samar comes to know, he leaves London and goes to India.
